The Canoe Course for 28-29 May still has approximately 6 vacancies for Leaders or Youth Members (Scouts or Venturers) wishing to do the Level 2 Canoe Course before September 2011. The Examining Instructor for this course is Bruce "Homer" Brigden and Assistant Instructors during this course will be Bryan "Silver Fox" Rigg, Andrew "Zaphod" de Jersey and Tracey "Potoroo" Hansford assisted by Grizzly & Maggie (Winston Hills). Applications for this course will close on Friday 13th May. If you wish to attend, or have youth members that want to do the course, please get your applications in to the Region office with $30 per applicant. What's NEW on the Water for 2011Cub Leaders - Note - One day Cub specific Canoe Fun Day/Courses are coming in Spring/Summer 2011. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Social Paddlers Days - I'm thinking about running a few social paddler's days. For a trial period, if anyone is interested in doing a day or half day paddle on the Parramatta/Lane Cove River and the Harbour between now and 6th July, please send me an indication of your interest and I will keep you informed. No instruction given on this social paddle. Participants must hold a current Level 2 canoe/kayak certificate and provide own/group seaworthy boat. Competent paddlers only. Novice Paddlers - Practical Experience Days - NEW - for Summer 2011. For New or Novice Paddlers (Level 1) Scouts and older youth members and leaders - develop your confidence and paddling skills in a fun environment with no tests to worry about. Limited to 10 Paddlers per day. $15 fee. Please email me to indicate your interest in participating in a one day novice course. Expressions of Interest - 5 Day Sailing Course - September School Holidays - Email me your expression of interest in a 5 day Sailing Course during the September School Holidays.
