Upcoming Courses If you are keen for some outdoor adventure and love the bush, then Canyoning is for you. Canyoning is a traverse through a river canyon. Basic Canyoning can be ‘walk-in, walk-out’ with more advanced canyons involving swimming, abseiling, or climbing. Who can do it? When can I do this? Qualifications Required Course Prerequisites The Canyoning Team can instruct people to three levels: Canyoner (Basic) - allowing certificate holders to participate in other rock-based activities, Canyon Leader and Canyon Instructor. Canyoner (Basic) - This level requires a current Rockcraft (Basic) qualification and the ability to swim and stay afloat for 5 minutes dressed in a jumper, shorts and sandshoes before you can safely participate in this activity. Canyon Leader This level requires both an Abseil Leaders qualification a Canyoner (Basic) qualification and a current First Aid Certificate (senior level or above) before you can participate in this advanced level of training.
