Scouts Australia will be sending a contingent of Scouts and Venturer Scouts to the 18th Boy Scouts of America National Scout Jamboree in July 2013.

Scouts, Venturers and Rovers (male and female) who will be between the ages of 14 and 21 are invited to attend as Venturers.

The event website has a huge range of information about the Jamboree and all youth members are encouraged to read about the activities that will be on offer as part of this experience.

Application forms are now available for download at www.bsa2013.scouts.com.au.

This event is bigger than a world jamboree (more than 40,000 people!) at a brand new Jamboree site, The Summit in West Virginia, USA. 

Activities will include white water rafting, rapelling, shooting, bmx, scuba, zip lining and more. Anyone aged between 14 and 20 participates in all activities. This will be the first ever USA Jamboree with female participants.

We will leave Australia on 11 July 2013 and return on 29 July 2013. We’ll spend about three days in the nation’s capital Washington DC, and four days on Los Angeles visiting Disneyland, Universal Studios and Six Flags. The contingent fee includes these activities, all food, accomodation, Jamboree fees and contingent merchandise.

Applications to join the Australian Contingent must be received by 8th June 2012 along with the deposit.
