1st Baulkham Hills Rovers pride themselves on a tradition of fun times and laughs as well as endeavouring to help out the community with our fair share of service and skills to balance it out. We are a dynamic crew, with members from all walks of life, but we are brought together through all the fun and friendship we have shared over the years.
Members of our Rover Crew possess a highly varied range of interests, occupations and hobbies, which allows each of us to explore our goals within the Scouting framework as well as providing a rounded experience for all members. Due to the culture that has emerged in our Rover Crew since its formation in the early 90’s, there exists a freedom whereby members can pursue their own interests within Rovers and experience the freedom to participate in the various other levels of Rovering and events outside weekly Rover Crew meetings with the full support of the Rover Crew.
Our Rover Crew had a lot to offer at Dragonskin 2007 – on OCKA 4! We are involved heavily on VOC in sites and services, transport, admin and theme, and again, we put on an award winning Activity base for the Venturers, 408, “The 1st Baulkham Hills Hoist” (Challenge). Together with former and current East Hills Rover Crew members, our older (booted or just moved on) Rovers from our Rover Crew continue to head up VOC 4 in head positions, catering, and sites and services.
In 2007, we focused on tackling the Region Moot in August, a challenge we have not undertaken since “Seven Deadly Sins” moot all those years ago. Our moot's theme was “Let's Get Physical” and with all the lycra, aerobics and sporty challenges you can handle, it was bound to be a barrel of laughs!
