SC&T Region Weekend Wide Game - November 2010

The South Coast and Tablelands Weekend Wide Game (WWG) is an annual competitive 24-hour Wide Game, presented by the Rovers of the SC&T Region, sponsored by Snowgum, and run at Cataract Scout Park. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the SC&T WWG, and we would like to issue an invitation to the Patrols of Greater Western Sydney to attend. The event normally attracts around two hundred Scouts, Venturers and Rovers and has been running successfully since 2001, with a steadily growing audience. All information on the WWG can be found at http://www.widegame.com.au/.

WWG X (“World of Scoutcraft”) is scheduled to run on 20-21st November 2010. Taking inspiration from the popular MMORPG and a collection of related resources, we will be pitting Alliance vs Horde across Cataract Scout Park in a race to explore, conquer, and pillage a new world – and then survive the irked monsters who are fed up with the constant interruptions.

Further information will be made available closer to the event, but if your Troops want a general idea as to how the event runs they can check out the information for the Harry-Potter themed WWG South II (“Hagrid’s Heroes”) which is scheduled to run on the 5th-6th June at Potato Point, south of Moruya. Of course, your Troops are more than welcome to attend this event as well!

We feel the WWG is a unique event, and are eager to see the confidence of our local Patrols shaken up by some fresh competition. Please feel free to contact myself or the WWG Team () if there are any questions. Also note that we have a definite limit on the number of “tourist” Patrols that can attend the event – so if your Troops are interested, get them to register interest ASAP to avoid disappointment!
